I worked for a defense contractor in the early 1980s. I think it was 1983, just after I started there, that an edict came down to "truck-proof" the building. If I remember, 1983 was when Hammas blew up the US embassy in Beirut with a truck bomb. They put up those "anti-truck" columns in front of the doors. |
