Some months ago Delta Chat [0] trended on HN. I think in a perfect world email based chat would solve a lot of the problems with current apps like Whatsapp or even Signal. But based on Gmail popularity I assume it would just mean that Google would get the data in most cases. [0] https://delta.chat |
