When the CCP invaded and annexed the Scarborough Shoal in 2012, the Obama administration ignored the defense treaty between the US and the Philippines and allowed the CCP to keep the land. So now that Biden is practically in power, it makes sense that the CCP innitiates the process for the annexation of Hong Kong in the comming month. My guess is that, before the end of the Biden term, the CCP will have made a move on Taiwan as well. And the West will not do anything about it other than "a strongly worded letter". |
