I had to take a pay cut and switch to a purely service delivery / provisioning role before I got out of On-Call; same org, different role. ~7 years and a couple of jobs later -- totally worth it. Just make sure you're using that newly found freedom wisely; don't fight for freedom and then do 3 hours of uninterrupted netflix every night. |
