Not really. Vocaloids are driven by human-written notes; one could argue that converting the notes into singing may involve "machine intelligence" (depending on how much processing is applied to the voice sample bank), but ultimately the software is essentially being used as an instrument. Similarly a Virtual YouTuber is just an animated model driven by motion-capture software, with the motions and voice provided by a human. I doubt this is what Kurzweil had in mind. |
