The frustrating thing about this is that they’re not necessarily off the mark in terms of the existence of political corruption. When you look at how lobbying works in the US, it’s pretty much legalized corruption.

They have a tendency to focus on the interpersonal relationships involved in these kinds of organizations because those are a lot easier to understand and criticize than the actual underlying behavior of the organizations they work for.

Ultimately, politics is all about who you know, and it’s not that far fetched at all to see Amazon hiring someone with close ties to the Biden Administration. That’s how this stuff has always worked.

That's another issue that's blatantly abused by conspiracy theorists. Lobbying does not mean corruption, and getting a representative official to hear out your case does not mean he's being corrupted. Otherwise that definition would mean that the sole purpose of any political organization would be to corrupt people in power.
