The telcos run the 911 system for the gov. But if the telco building is down then even if 911 was up they couldn't switch the calls through to it. But agree, sounds like a major fubar. A lot of the fiber from the cell towers to the cell switching offices is supplied by the local telco, in this case AT&T. I wonder if the other wireless carriers are effected? |
