For scale prototypes, it's great. I have a 3D printed 1/100 scale sailboat hull on my desk right now. However, you aren't going to beat building hulls out of fiberglass. With a large CNC, foam/starboard/coosa, and a roll of fiberglass you can prototype a full scale boat in a weekend. Maybe printing a hull buck would be a good move? But you just as easily could CNC foam blocks for that too... |
