Oh the Places You Go was first published in 1990 and is protected by US copyright for the life of the author plus 70 years. Dr. Seuss died in 1991 (OtPYG was the last book published in his lifetime) and so the book will remain under copyright until 2061. My problem with this ruling isn't that it clashes with my instincts, it's that it will continue to be enforceable halfway through the century. |
