With Ubuntu you have the choice to install newer kernels and video drivers if you need it and you are competent enough to read instructions. The advantage of stable distros is that you are not surprised with new bugs,feature removal or shiny redesigns. When I needed a new driver to play some game I just installed an official PPA and got the driver and if I did not like it I could install the older version. |
