The reasons why monopolies are bad isn't automatically due to the size of the market that a company controls. Instead, the reason why they are bad, is due to things like barriers to entry, and the anti competitive practices that they enact. For dating apps, I don't see how match group is putting up anything that could be described as a barrier to entry, for other dating apps. Whereas Apple is absolutely doing things that effect competition in the market, by, for example, preventing competing app stores on the Iphone. Therefore, Apple's actions are much worse than Match Groups, even though they have a smaller percentage of the market. |
