I have this issue with my T470. I'd love to use some Linux distribution, but not waking up brought me back to Windows. A temporary solution was just keeping it on, which used up about 13% of the battery per night, but that's not a long term solution.

my T440, T470 and T495s all do the same thing. Nightmare. I use a mac mini most of the time now though.
