I think a lot of people just know once done, this is not the last time a tech company will get letters from senators asking for content to be removed. This time, I happen to agree that the claim the election was stolen is actively harmful but I also remember when Covid was officially not spread human to human and if Covid misinformation had been a banned thing earlier in the pandemic we would have been probably removing content from actual doctors that ended up being right. Remember when "masks wouldn't help"? I think youtube is doing a "good thing" in terms of getting us past this silliness faster, but I don't think it'll necessarily be a "good thing" next time so I'd rather it happen never. |
