Houdini is one of the potential game changers out there. I'm watching the spec progressing and the implementations getting ready for years. Its amazing, but its another step of turning every website into an application, i.e., requiring JS.

Also its something that make things like React a little less relevant, by providing a powerful api which will perform much better.

Not sure this is the case - Houdini is about styling, while React (vdom) is about making a DOM out of some state. Is something "surpasses" React then these are the vdom-less temlating libraries.
