Modern anti-cheat platforms can be pretty invasive and tie very closely into the operating system - ie, if designed for Windows, they often simply won't work at all through some other layer like Proton/Wine. This is interpreted by many game companies as an attempt to cheat, rather than simply an unsupported use case. |
