the economic incentives for a hired management is not aligned with innovation. A hired CEO has incentive to make the company continue to be profitable during his/her tenure. This means conservative thinking and business continuity. Not taking big, risky bets that pay off multiple 100x in 10 years. A new company, owned by the CEO level people, is not going to fall into this trap. |
