Legit question: Why are these still called "GPU"s? Shouldn't they rightly be called "AIPU"s, or "IPU"s?

They can be use used for anything related to numerical programming. They are GPGPUs https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/General-purpose_computing_on_g...

There are processors that are designed only for DNN inference but A100 is not one of them.
