Threat to democracy and monopoly have been so bastardized by propaganda that they essentially colloquially mean "I don't like their speech/influence and want them to be illegal." and "They are big and I don't like them and think they shouldn't be allowed to exist!" respectively. They are soft eliminationism essentially.
