I always wish I had this ability to fix electronics around my house, like my Kurig, which repeatedly asked me to clean the needle and wouldn't brew me a cup of coffee.
Same. I've always been amazed by people like this guy who could disassemble absolutely anything and just fix it, or add some cool features to it. No member in my family is really good with electronics so I've never been able to really learn how to get there. Without someone taking a specific example and explaining you step by step how to do it, I found it quite difficult to begin learning electronics.
YouTube is great for these kinds of things. Avoid the "Hey Guys! LIKE AND SUBSCRIBE" ones with one minute logo intros, and look for the 5 minute ones where the old bearded guy gets right into the job.
I don't really subscribe to any channels or particular people. Do a few searches for the model number + words like "repair" and "DIY", and skip anything where the production value looks better than your 1992 summer vacation VHS tape.
It's a small win of liberation to return to simple tech like a dripper or pour over.
