Apple could nearly buy Nvidia with their cash in hand alone, is it that surprising? I'd be more surprised if they fucked it up completely.

That they have actually chose to do it is impressive, although highly worrying to me from a software freedom perspective. What are the odds of Apple releasing drivers for any of their hardware?
