Is this a moot point if the assumption tips are reported as wages? I was never a server, but worked in the back of the restaurant so maybe I don't understand, but this seemed to be the same dynamic. With all that said, tipping seems to be a weird cultural holdover where employers can keep labor rates down via a quasi-voluntary tax |
