Ask HN: How do I find a three character .org domain?
6 points by Takizawamura 2056 days ago
I simply want one for personal use. It can be any combination of numbers and letters, but hyphen is ruled out.

Any clever ways to go about finding one that is either available outright or is selling for a reasonable price?

NameGrep sounds like something you’re looking for, as it uses standard regex formatting for searches (also includes .org searches).

Note: they use affiliate links when clicking on the extension you’re selecting

Doubt there's any available. Drop catchers will grab all 3 letters. Best bet is to check the domain auction sites.

Why .org when there's so many tlds to choose from?

With 46,656 possibilities given your requirements, it may very well be that none are left due to automated squatters.
Thanks all.. managed to pick up a good three character domain using namegrep. It is a dot org with a number / letter / number combination.
Godaddy auctions always at least a couple available for under $20.

I think I've grabbed a few from namesilo.com as well.

Maybe I can help you. Please email me.
Thanks. Email sent.
Consider non ASCII characters?
