The troves of people that flag any news that offends their ideological beliefs is easily the most enraging thing about how HN deals with politics.

The way I see it, you can either have politics on the site or not. You can't have politics, but then filter it out to the point that the front page is an alternate reality bubble where Trump doesn't lie daily.

Stuff like this will get consisted flagged to the depths of HN while conservative victimization porn from tabloids about how Mailchimp and the liberal elite are coming to take away your conservative values and censor your views will linger on the first few pages for days. You can't have it both ways.

IMO, HN needs to rethink the way it's flagging system works to prevent abuse.
