The way you say "coffee" while understood by all sides, embeds enough information to determine your ethnicity/religion/nationality/place of birth and is weaponized for political use. The truth is, people understand each other just fine. Pushing for giving a name to "the common language" or enumerating how many "different languages" exist has little to do with linguistics. |
