Well during the cold war, WW I and WW II you could visit your family, leave your house to have a cup of tea with a friend; you go walk through a restaurant without a mask on your face. In much of Europe you can't do any of those things right now, without incurring the wrath of state force. The next equivalent event in history in western europe to this destruction of civil liberty was the nazi occupation of France. |
