About twenty years ago now, the Arizona legislature put a referendum on the ballot that would have adopted switching between standard time and daylight savings time. It lost by about 80% to 20%, the most lopsided result I've ever seen. Most desert dwellers don't want another hour of daylight in the summer, but one of the small perks of living here that there is no switch. |
