They sound odd because they aren't often used. But English has neat rules for creating words from other words. Nouns to verbs, adverbs etc. They are 'wrong' in that they aren't in the dictionary (yet). They are 'right' because they are correctly constructed by the rules. I say that as a 'programmer' or 'coder' who does 'computing' on a 'computer'. I could be a 'painter' who does 'painting' (and produces a 'painting'!) Or a doctor who does doctoring. And on and on. |
