This is just the next terrifying development on Planet China. YouTube-dl went unmolested for years. About week ago, I was party to an online conversation a week ago about how youtube-dl is an important tool for archiving videos of public officials before they can be disappeared. Coincidence? After the RIAA won a case against Limewire in 2010, the next significant legal action I can find in a bit of looking is that the US Supreme Court ruled against the RIAA in Allen v.
