If you're egregiously violating their guidelines I would want Sony to be involved. I shouldn't have to block every racist bully I come across. The racist bully should be removed from the platform after a warning or two.

Ehhh Id rather take the trade-off of just manually blocking than Sony taking a big brother approach. You may have a higher sensitivity to harmful words though. I think that having Sony intervene on every instance of a troll on a platform targeting young adult demographic is going to be a fairly tall task.
Counterpoint:

When people know how to manage a conversation, the bully faces strong norms that do not reward like righteous indignation does.

You could laugh at them too. Works wonders, no joke.

I think both of these solutions are more preferable in my opinion.
