I agree that wifi would be great, but given the target market is schools, and that schools run enterprise wifi, it would be a lot of trouble (for both the teacher, and the IT team) to get it working, and probably lead to disillusionment with the device, so I respect the decision to keep wifi off. There is an ESP32-based microbit 'clone' called the BPi:bit (BPi = BananaPi) you can get off AliExpress that includes wifi (plus RGB LEDs), which might be worth a look |
