A lot of people are pointing out that this article is satirical in nature. English is not my first language. Even though I don't have any issues in reading English books, I was not able to see the "satirical" aspects. Up until now, I've generally been able to distinguish between satire / sarcasm / irony etc.

If anyone can shed some light on how to "see" the satirical aspects, I'd be really grateful. :)

I don't think it's satire. People are presumably reacting that way because what Slava's saying is outside their acceptable range, so they need an alternate interpretation. This is missing his point, which is to write things that break out of acceptable range—or rather, not to not write things because they're out of acceptable range.

On the other hand, it's a merciful way of resolving the cognitive dissonance, since the alternative would be "what an asshole" and that would make for a worse thread.
