Buried deep in this article are some troubling comments about race, gender, and religion. The author argues that historically most "geniuses" have been non-catholic white men and coincidentally scientific innovations become less frequent as there are more scientists who are not non-catholic white men.

There was a time in history where certain areas of research and discussion were more or less forbidden. Scientists were sometimes killed for their findings that went against the prevailing narrative of the day
Especially strange because the concept of white as he uses it didn't exist in many of the times and places he's talking about.
Is it possible he's correct?
