For something like this PHP should be fine. While PHP might not be the best for modern applications, PHP 7 is quite the competent language, and if you're experienced with this stack it's probably your best bet.

I'm much more experienced with Ruby and Python than PHP. I did something simple in PHP in the past simply because I didn't even know I could do something else.

But maybe PHP is indeed the right choice. Right now I am kinda considering Ruby with CGI.
