Personally I see no reason to start a new project with Erlang unless you really enjoy its syntax (perhaps for someone who has a solid background in Prolog?). With Elixir you get everything in Erlang plus a lot of extremely powerful libraries/frameworks (e.g. Ecto and Phoenix), macros, a friendlier syntax etc. |
