I have to imagine that in most businesses and startups alike, at least those that survive, it's relatively common knowledge at this point that intelligence is not the critical determinant of a success. It's important if not necessary to be smart, but I think it's pretty ubiquitously agreed upon (especially by the firm this forum stems from) that just having smart people will never [1] make a business successful. [1] never taken loosely, of course. There's certainly still some business models out there (small quant shops come to mind) that thrive mainly through intelligence. |
