Hi kstenerud, The way it differentiates from video call is that it is more immersive and interactive by using AR technology. You can meet or hangout with other users as avatars (holographic in future) and interact with 3D elements that you can spawn using Augmented reality in your own physical space. For example if you want to celebrate a birthday, you can do that by joining a private room and change theme to birthday. Then you will see a 3D AR birthday cake on a table in front of you. Other users can then join that shared space as avatars and interact and communicate as you would naturally. For them they will see the cake in their own physical space. In short it’s more than a 2D video call. It is immersive and interactive call. We plan on supporting AR headsets and VR headsets in future.
