Does anyone remember Fusion-IO?

It used to have the fastest SSD on the market. What happened to it?

In some ways Fusion-IO was the prototype for NVMe and as with many standards the innovator didn't end up winning the market.
Former Fusion-io employee. wmf is right in broad strokes: they got commoditized and couldn't figure out how to regain an edge before their fortunes dwindled.
SanDisk bought them in 2014, and after that, I have no idea what's happened to their technology...
