It’s not that simple. Newsom has accomplished little of his agenda and it’s not because of “the right,” which hardly exists in California. The Democrats in California torpedoed the latest housing bill, which merely attempted to legalize duplexes statewide, evoking the apocalyptic destruction of single family neighborhoods as it’s result. The world is also not as simple as “left” and “right,” and I’ve found that it’s unwise to tell someone else what it’s like from their POV. We should instead speak for ourselves, and be genuinely interested and curious why others think the way they do. |

“The right” make up about a third of the state[0] if the 2018 gubernatorial election is anything to go by. I wouldn’t call that “hardly exist[ing].” They may not be powerful enough to vote in who they want, but they’re there.
