Remember how having a dial up connection was the norm for internet connectivity in the 90s and early 2000s. Remember how DBAs and database developers from service based consulting orgs used to be flocking in large enterprises to maintain and build systems. Some of these have been now changed for the better - Thanks to cloud, open source, better connectivity. But, What are some of the engineering domains today where you see headcounts in plenty that could completely diminish 10 years from now, and why? |

One thing might be different though. It seems that the DBA era relied on on-site employees. I think the advent of [_]aaS will curb, or at least concentrate, the demand in future domains.
