Not necessarily limited to development roles, I feel like in every team/company, there are these pesky sources of friction that everyone has sort of learnt to live with because in the short run, taking the few extra steps to work around something is usually quicker than facing the actual problem. Actively push to remedy these, whether it's something you can take care of yourself in a few hours/days, or you need to campaign to get someone's buy-in. It goes a long way - not only in time saved, but also in mental capacity freed up.

This can be code, build systems (or lack thereof), missing automation, or even lack of clarity between various stakeholders.
