That reads like a post-hoc justification to me. Most people practice ignoring people by, well, ignoring them. If they don't, they will explain what's "really going on" by just explaining it, not with prolonged fits of unwarranted and uncharitable apoplexy.

As I described elsewhere, Graeber is also lying when he said he made any serious attempt to ignore DeLong at all.
