Ask HN: How is your experience with feature teams?

Currently we have flat structure with autonomous component oriented teams but we are in process of changing to feature teams. From company perspective it sounds like great plan to not create silos and have everyone capable of doing everything, at least that is idea but how did it work for you in real life?

So far two biggest questions I am trying to figure out are:

1. How do you organize ownership of product, e.g if there is production incident on specific component who should claim it?

2. How do you build personal growth within engineers in such environment? Classical approaches is where you have people specialized in specific domain and taking more ownership but how to make it work in this setup?
