For me, listening to human DJs on non-commercial radio stations has expanded my knowledge and tastes massively. It's a good way to learn about a wide variety of music and keep current. That knowledge can be used as a springboard for further exploration. I like KEXP [0], a well-known community radio station from Seattle.
