This is the result of yesteryear's failures. It isnt the kiddos who are getting sucked into this stuff, and I say this as an early stage graybeard.

This isn't exclusive to older people, either. Regardless, it will be even more dangerous when these people reproduce and raise their children to believe this stuff.
Anecdotally I know several Gen Z-ers in their early 20s that are college educated and half believe in these conspiracy theories.

May be more of a psychographic than demographic reason.

Many of my high-school friends (I'm a millennial) are definitely being sucked into this.

I would hesitate to say this. There have been emergences of qanon adjacent conspiracies popping up out of tiktok, the Wayfair one being the most obvious example.

This is sad to hear, if true.
