The weird thing is that licensing bodies, like writers guilds et al, are supposed to represent the financial interests of artists and other folks involved in the process. They've built a reputation for being stodgy and backwards because of their ham-fisted handling of DRM/piracy/mp3 sales, but insisting that YouTube funnels real money back to artists is exactly what they ought to be doing. |
