As long as I can remember, Gentoo manuals always assume you to use nano by default (although you can of course choose another). It's a distro that asks you to edit dozens of files in the installation process, and nano is definitely up to the job. I guess they are being accommodative to people who don't know any editor to use, since those who have their favorite editor don't need to be told. |
