How do you make a better one? It's a human problem, a social interaction problem, not a tech one. Novices want to ask all the didn't-even-read-the-official-docs and don't-want-to-do-my-own-homework questions they want, and the more experienced users don't want to see those kinds of low-bar questions. In my not so humble opinion, the mods on SO gets a lot of shit, but I think they're not strict enough. SO is absolutely brimming with low-bar questions and answers. Best case that is all noise, worst case, the wrong and misinformed answers (by people portraying expertise) ends up in production code. |

It should even be in your face when answering a question. A culture of posting sources/references.
