Which is probably rooted in our need to attract a mate and spread our genes. The trouble is we don't really know when to stop. Even if you are aware of what's going on it's easy to slip back into this way of thinking. Of course marketers play on these insecurities in rather insidious ways. They will make you believe you can't be a good father without owning a new SUV, that buying a house in the country is going to make you sexually attractive to the opposite sex and on and on. |
