I dispute that; I think schoolbook RSA has probably done more harm than good. It's not showing you how this thing that seems like magic work; it's just replacing one magic trick with another. It's not a hypothetical concern; you see it in every instance where someone has implemented schoolbook RSA in production, which was a not-infrequent occurrence when people were still using RSA in new designs. |
