On windows, I tried dozens of trending fonts like fira code, new ms font, jetbrains etc but nothing looks more natural to read than Consolas (and also Roboto mono)

Exactly same. I try different fonts from time to time but always end up going back to Consolas.

I think Cascadia Code[0] is pretty close but I wish Microsoft would re-release Consolas with ligatures.
